Though there’s no official word yet from Square Enix, Yoshi-P recently revealed that he and his team are thinking of options for Final Fantasy 16 DLC.
Specifically, producer Naoki Yoshida (aka Yoshi-P) shared their potential plans in an interview with GamerBraves during a visit to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
During the interview, Yoshi-P was asked about potential DLC plans. Initially, he stated that the development team intended the game to be a complete experience. Though he then mentioned how they have seen the positive feedback on the game and the clamor for DLC. Because of this, Yoshi-P said that the team is currently “thinking of options” for Final Fantasy 16 DLC.
While this is far from a confirmation that DLC will be in the works, its’ a good indication that Square Enix and Creative Business Unit 3 are aware of the demand for it, so we might just get one or more down the line.
Given that it seems DLC plans weren’t there from the beginning, if the game does get DLC, it will probably take a year or more, especially if they were to add a new Eikon. Even if it’ll take a while, many fans are hoping that we’ll get a DLC for the game that adds Leviathan, an Eikon that was mentioned at some point in the story but did not make an appearance.
Final Fantasy 16 is available now exclusively on the PS5. In case you haven’t played the game yet, you can read our full review of the game here.
