It has been a great year so far for cinephiles, and it’s about to be even better as Paramount Pictures announced the global theatrical release date of Killers of the Flower Moon, the long-awaited next film from Martin Scorsese.
Specifically, Killers of the Flower Moon will get a global cinema release on October 20 in the US and 18 in other regions. After its theatrical run, the film will be streamed on Apple TV+.
Paramount also shared a new key art for the movie which you can see here:
A new Martin Scorsese movie is a huge deal for movie buffs. After all, Scorsese is one of the most celebrated filmmakers ever, with classics such as Taxi Driver, Raging Bull, and Goodfellas under his belt.
Though his latest film is even more special as it finally features Scorsese’s two main collaborators — Robert De Niro and Leonardo DiCaprio. They are also joined by Lily Gladstone who turned in an incredible performance based on the film’s reception at the Cannes Film Festival.
The film’s premise is described as:
“At the turn of the 20th century, oil brought a fortune to the Osage Nation, who became some of the richest people in the world overnight. The wealth of these Native Americans immediately attracted white interlopers, who manipulated, extorted, and stole as much Osage money as they could before resorting to murder. Based on a true story and told through the improbable romance of Ernest Burkhart (Leonardo DiCaprio) and Mollie Kyle (Lily Gladstone), “Killers of the Flower Moon” is an epic western crime saga, where real love crosses paths with unspeakable betrayal. Also starring Robert De Niro and Jesse Plemons, “Killers of the Flower Moon” is directed by Academy Award winner Martin Scorsese from a screenplay by Eric Roth and Martin Scorsese, based on David Grann’s best-selling book.”
Killers of the Flower Moon will release in cinemas on October 20 in the US, including in IMAX theaters. The film is also confirmed to release in the Philippines on October 18.
