Tekken 8 will be released on January 26, 2024

Get ready for the next battle... In January!

Opening Night Live at Gamescom 2023 just revealed that Tekken 8 will release on all major consoles and PC on January 26, 2024.

Check out the official trailer below:

Before the announcement though, Tekken 8’s release date was actually leaked hours before the big news. Just a few hours before Opening Night Live kicking off Gamescom 2023, a well-known leaker named Aggiornamenti Lumia has tweeted the Tekken 8 release date. The Twitter user was the first to spot that Tekken 8 will release on January 26, 2024.

In a follow-up post, he responded to his source, mentioning that it game from Tekken 8’s Microsoft Store page:

“Since people keep asking, what I did was opening the public Tekken 8 Microsoft Store page (xbox.com/games/store/te) and read the “release date” info. Ps: they shut down the store listing a few minutes ago”.

Katsuhiro Harada, game director and producer for Tekken 8 responded on his awareness of the leak in a Tweet he made the previous day:

“I’m aware that there are some minor information leaks. They contain old information that has already been changed or deleted. Not only that, but the source of the leaks has been mostly identified. The information that is currently leaked is only given to organizations that dare to be involved in debugging and localization. The next leak will identify the individual leaker (We have set up different parts of the ROM for every organization (internal as well as external) and line within the development, and this will work in the future).”

Regardless of whether the leak happened or not, I’m sure a lot of fighting fans are happy to see the return of a beloved fighting game.

How about you? Are you excited for Tekken 8?

Tekken 8 is planned to release on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S and PC via Steam.
