Unboxing the Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon Collector’s Edition

Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon is out now, and its Collector’s Edition is a seriously impressive package for mecha fans!

Yesterday, FromSoftware’s long-awaited next installment in the Armored Core mecha franchise was finally released. It’s fair to say that it has been a long time coming as it has been years since the last game in the Armored Core series. In these past years, FromSoftware has pretty much put its focus on the Soulsborne games.

FromSoftware’s return to their iconic mecha franchise is a major success at least when it comes to the game’s quality. Long-time series fans will be delighted to know that this new game is true to the series’ focus on mech customization, all while having brilliant gameplay that should pose a challenge even for Soulsborne players.

In our review, we said that “there is just no other mech action game that plays like this” thanks to “the expertly built gameplay systems that all synergize with each other like a well-tuned machine.”

Overall, any mecha or FromSoftware fan should have a great time with Fires of Rubicon. But if you still have yet to get the game, you’ll want to consider it’s impressive Collector’s Edition which we think is one of the best this year.

Recently Bandai Namco Entertainment Asia sent over this PS5 Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon Collector’s Edition for us to showcase, and here’s a quick unboxing!

First, here’s the main box with the game’s cover art.

After taking off the sleeve, you’ll be greeted with another box featuring some neat details in the style of the game.

Inside this box is yet another box which contains the highlight of the package.

The highlight is none other than an Armored Core figurine that features a selection of weapons that you’ll see in game.

After attaching every accessory, here’s what the Armored Core looks like:

This Armored Core has a height of 19cm, making it quite attention-grabbing when you put it on your shelf or display case. Aside from a range of weapons, the mech also comes with a base so you can more easily display it. Though even without the base, it’s built well and is hefty enough to stand properly on its own.

Aside from the figurine, the package also features four pin badges with designs based on logos found in the game.

If that’s not enough to show off your Armored Core fandom, the Collector’s Edition also features 45 stickers with even more emblems.

A proper Collector’s Edition won’t be complete without and art book, and this one is no exception as it features a book with gorgeous concept art of the game.

Another thing that Collector’s Editions have is a Steelbook case, and the Fires of Rubicon package also has one with a cover art that perfectly fits the series’ style.

Finally, the Collector’s Edition comes with a physical disc copy of the game — always nice to have given that there’s an increasing number of Collectors’ Editions that only come with a game code.
