Riot Games just announced that K-pop sensation NewJeans is performing the official song for Worlds 2023 — the premier League tournament.
The new song is titled “GODS” and it was announced via League of Legends’ official social media pages. It was also confirmed that the song will be released in just less than a week. Specifically, the song will be available on platforms such as YouTube on October 3 at 10 PM PT/ October 4 at 10 PM KST / October 4 at 9 PM PH time.
Given that Worlds 2023 will happen in South Korea, it’s no surprise that Riot tapped NewJeans to perform the song. After all, NewJeans is arguably one of the most popular K-pop girl groups right now, impressive given that it has only been a bit over a year since the group debuted.

In case you’re unfamiliar, NewJeans is a K-pop girl group by ADOR, a label under Hybe Corporation. The group debuted in July 2022 and has since become one of the most well-known groups K-pop thanks to their incredibly catchy songs and creative music videos. If you haven’t given them a listen yet, you definitely should as their songs are top-notch and are easy to recommend even for those who aren’t typically K-pop listeners.
NewJeans is not the first K-pop group that Riot tapped to create music for League. There’s (G)I-DLE members Soyeon and Miyeon who are part of the virtual group K/DA.
Worlds 2023 is happening in South Korea from October 10 to November 19, 2023.
