Xbox is now the Official Console Partner of BWT Alpine F1 Team

Xbox and Alpine F1 Team's partnership begins just in time for the Japanese Grand Prix.

Xbox and BWT Alpine F1 Team recently announced their new partnership, making Xbox the team’s official console partner.

In the announcement on Xbox Wire, it was revealed that this a multi-year deal between Xbox and the notable F1 team. It also finally expands Xbox into the world of F1.

So, what does this deal entail? Well, this means fans will see the Xbox logo on the Alpine A523 cars and the Paddock areas during key races each season. These include the Japanese Grand Prix that’s happening this weekend (though the race is scheduled to happen specifically on Sunday).

Along with the logo inclusion during select races in the F1 calendar, the Xbox and Alpine F1 Team partnership will also feature some “fun and imaginative activations” as the season progresses. Though there’s no word yet on what exactly to expect from these.

Xbox teaming up with Alpine makes sense considering that Microsoft is already an Alpine sponsor. In fact, Microsoft has been a sponsor of the Enstone-based team, even over a decade ago when Microsoft Dynamics’ logo was on the Lotus Renault F1 team.

Though seeing the Xbox green alongside the signature Alpine blue is not exactly a perfect fit, especially given that there’s an actual green-colored team on the paddock.

Still, here’s hoping that the partnership can also lead to some cooler stuff. Maybe a special Alpine-themed Xbox console? Fingers crossed that happens for Xbox fans who are also into F1.
