Dragon Ball is coming back with a new anime in 2024

The new anime is titled Dragon Ball: Daima, and it features an all-new story from Akira Toriyama!

At New York Comic Con 2023, a new Dragon Ball anime was announced that will be released in 2024, and it is officially titled Dragon Ball: Daima!

This new anime was revealed specifically at the New York Comic Con Dragon Ball panel. There, attendees were treated to a first look at the anime via its teaser trailer.

Thankfully, Toei Animation soon released the anime’s teaser via its official YouTube channel. You can check it out here:

As shown in the trailer, Dragon Ball: Daima features de-aged versions of Goku, Vegeta, and the rest of the anime’s cast. Based on information from the event, this new anime will feature a brand-new story by series creator Akira Toriyama.

This should mean that this anime will feature an original story that’s not based on any previously released manga. In a way, that makes it similar to films like Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero which also had original stories.

It’ll be interesting to see how this new anime will fit into the rest of the Dragon Ball titles though, not to mention if it will be a canon project. If not, this might become another Dragon Ball GT.

Fans shouldn’t be worried though. After all, Toriyama is heavily involved in the creation of this new anime, so fans should still look forward to it when it releases sometime in 2024.

In the meantime, fans will also need to wait a bit longer for the return of the Dragon Ball Super anime series, especially as this new anime is likely taking priority.
