At the Xbox Partner Preview, SEGA and RGG Studio shared a new Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth trailer that revealed the new Dondoko Island minigame.
The Yakuza/Like a Dragon games are beloved by fans for their various wacky and fun minigames. Infinite Wealth promises to deliver on that front with Dondoko Island which you can see the reveal of here:
This island (which is presumably also in Hawaii where the game is mainly set) has a reputation of being a go-to place for illegal dumping. In the minigame, the goal is to change the island’s image by destroying and collecting trash, then turning it into DIY furniture and buildings.
The minigame seems wacky and quite fun, and it will likely be one of Infinite Wealth’s big minigames. Think of it like Yakuza: Like a Dragon’s business management or the Kiwami 2 Cabaret Club and Majima Construction minigames.
SEGA and RGG Studio share new Ichiban and Kiryu Images
Along with the minigame, SEGA and RGG Studio also shared new images of the main stars of Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth — Ichiban Kasuga and Kazuma Kiryu.
RGG Studio describes Ichiban in Infinite Wealth as:
“The first hero of the story, Kasuga carries on Masumi Arakawa’s legacy of rehabilitating former yakuza back into society, intent on not letting anyone fall through the cracks.
Shocked to learn that his mother is alive and well in Hawaii, he goes in search of her.
There, on that small slice of paradise, he once again crosses paths with the legendary yakuza— Kazuma Kiryu.”
The iconic Kiryu is also going to play a big role in the game. Now, Kiryu lives in secrecy as an agent for the influential Daidoji, and he once again crosses paths with Ichiban.
Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth will be released on the PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC on January 26, 2024,
