Uniqlo is bringing back its Metal Gear graphic tees in UT Archive

Great news for Metal Gear fans!

After releasing anime-themed collections like the Jujutsu Kaisen and Chainsaw Man line, Uniqlo revealed that it will release Metal Gear graphic tees as part of its UT Archive collection.

As the name implies, the UT Archive collection is a series of graphic tee re-releases where Uniqlo brings back previous t-shirt designs. Recently, Uniqlo brought back Naruto, One Piece, and Bleach tees as a treat for fans.

Now, Uniqlo is gearing up to re-release past graphic t-shirts with designs based on the iconic Metal Gear series. Here’s a look at the designs that will be available:

To start, we have a gray t-shirt that represents Gray Fox from Metal Gear Solid. Aside from a big print of his exoskeleton at the back, the front also features his quote “Neither Enemy Nor Friend.”

Next, there’s a t-shirt featuring a design based on the original Metal Gear that should delight retro and OG fans.

It may not be as popular as other games in the series, but Peace Walker is must-play for any Metal Gear fan. For those who have played and loved the game, this white t-shirt is perfect as it features a large print of Big Boss at the back, with a small Peace Walker logo at the front.

This black tee meanwhile features a print of Raiden in Metal Gear Rising, the spinoff by PlatinumGames that delivers a ton of fun hack-and-slash action.

For something funny, there’s this white tee featuring the series’ signature cardboard box.

Finally, we have a blue t-shirt with the iconic art of Snake and Raiden in Metal Gear Solid 2.

The Uniqlo x Metal Gear UT Archive collection will be released in Japan in late January 2024. Each t-shirt is priced at JPY 1,500.

For now, there’s no word yet on a PH release, though given that Uniqlo UT collection in Japan are also generally released here, expect to see these in Uniqlo stores early in 2024, likely with a price tag of PHP 790 for each tee.
