After its release in Japan back in September, City Hunter The Movie: Angel Dust is finally confirmed to release in the Philippines.
City Hunter is one of the most iconic anime and manga from the 80s, and it’s finally back with a new anime entry that promises to delight long-time fans and serve as a great introduction for those who aren’t familiar with the “sweeper” Ryo Saeba.
Angel Dust was made to celebrate the franchise’s 35th anniversary. It follows Ryo Saeba and Kaori Makimura as they face off against dark forces in the shadows of the city.
The film’s premise is described as:
“Angel Dust follows Ryo and Kaori taking on a new client named Angie who seemed to have lost her cat while touring the city. Constantly attracted to beautiful women, Kaori strictly watches over Ryo’s advanced moves towards Angie to help him focus on the mission. Meanwhile, Saeko Nogami of the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department, with the help of Umibozu and Miki, investigates an invention of a new technology designed to create soldiers with unparalleled strength and skills. The same dark technology is the latest version of the Angel Dust that caused the death of Ryo’s partner.”
City Hunter The Movie: Angel Dust will be released in the Philippines exclusively at SM Cinemas on November 8, 2023.
In related news, a live-action City Hunter movie is also in the works from Netflix.
