Slasher-horror ‘Thanksgiving’ gets a Philippines cinema release date

Catch this new horror flick in PH cinemas next week!

Columbia Pictures is releasing the new slasher-horror film Thanksgiving in cinemas in the Philippines on November 22.

In case you missed its reveal, Thanksgiving is a new horror flick by Eli Roth, the director of films like Hostel, 2013’s The Green Inferno, and Death Wish.

To further hype up the film, Columbia Pictures shared a featurette that reveals the casts favorite kills in the movie. Thankfully, there are no spoilers here:

“Every kill had to meet our standards of scare and gore,” says director Eli Roth. “If the movie didn’t deliver on its promise, we’d be dead.”

Horror buffs and/or cinephiles may be familiar with Thanksgiving as it’s the fake movie trailer that Roth directed for Quentin Tarantino and Robert Rodriguez’s Grindhouse double-feature.

If you aren’t familiar though, the film’s premise is described as:

“After a Black Friday riot ends in tragedy, a mysterious Thanksgiving-inspired killer terrorizes Plymouth, Massachusetts – the birthplace of the infamous holiday. Picking off residents one by one, what begins as random revenge killings are soon revealed to be part of a larger, sinister holiday plan. Will the town uncover the killer and survive the holidays…or become guests at his twisted holiday dinner table?”

This film stars Patrick Dempsey, Addison Rae, Milo Manheim, Jalen Thomas Brooks, Nell Verlaque, Rick Hoffman and Gina Gershon.

Thanksgiving will release in cinemas in the Philippines on November 22, 2023.
