The Percy Jackson and the Olympians show has been a fantastic adaptation of the beloved books by Rick Riordan. The first episode was able to get 26.2 million views in its first 3 weeks streaming on Disney+ and Hulu. The first season is nearing its final episode but that won’t be the end for us to see our favorite demigods. A Hero’s Journey: The Making of Percy Jackson and the Olympians, a 50-minute behind-the-scenes documentary will be releasing on Disney+ today, January 31, 2024.
Directed by Joel Edwards and executive produced by Edwards and Daniel Kiedis, the documentary from Evolve Studios will feature series stars Walker Scobell, Leah Sava Jeffries, and Aryan Simhadri as you come with them in the behind-the-scenes experiences of what it’s like to bring the story from the pages to the screen.
When the show first came out, there was already a bunch of promo videos featuring the trio where you can see just how solid the bond they have made with each other. The chemistry is seen on and off the set. Getting a dedicated full feature of them alongside the rest of the cast and crew sounds like an amazing time for fans.
This show has been a long time coming. Rick Riordan being directly involved with the development was the first sign of it being great. And so far, despite some deviations from the book, Percy Jackson and the Olympians has been a fun treat for longtime fans such as me. A Hero’s Journey: The Making of Percy Jackson and the Olympians is sounding like the perfect watch as we eagerly wait for season 2.
