HoYoverse recently announced that the first Genius Invokation TCG Asia Invitational will happen in Shanghai beginning Thursday, January 11.
The Genius Invokation TCG Asia Invitational will feature the top 16 players from the Dynamic Cup in the People’s Republic of Chin and the three different The Prince Cup Asian regional tournaments. These players will compete from January 11 to 21 for the lion’s share of the CNY 500,000 (around USD 69,900).
The Genius Invokation TCG is a strategy card game in Genshin Impact which gives players a chance to compete against NPCs or each other. This game mode was introduced in late 2022, and it has since become a big hit, enough that it got official tournaments such as the Astra Carnival: The Prince Cup and the community tournament Cat’s Tail Gathering in 2023.
This upcoming Asia Invitation will be the biggest one though. it will feature two stages: the group stage and the knockout stage which both have double-elimination formats.
In the group stage which happens from January 11 to 14, the sixteen players will be divided into four groups, with the top two from each group progressing to the knockout stage.
The knockout stage will happen from January 19 to 21, and it will feature best-of-five matches in a bracket format. On the final day, the final two players will face off in the Grand Finals in a best-of-seven. The winner will take home the trophy, as well as the CNY 250,000 grand prize.
The Genius Invokation TCG Asia Invitational will be available to stream on AstraCarnival on X, YouTube, and Twitch from January 11 to 21. Then, the final two days (January 20 and 21) will be streamed on the @GenshinImpactOfficial Twitch.
