After the release of Sister Venturing Out a few months ago, ODEX Philippines announced that Rascal Does Not Dream of a Knapsack Kid is getting a fan’s screening in the Philippines on Saturday, January 13.
The screening will happen at SM Megamall, with tickets priced at PHP 1,650 each. As with most fan’s screening though, each ticket will come with a bunch of goodies, including:
- 1 x T-Shirt
- 1 x Japan Import W1 Novel
- 1 x Japan Import W2 Mini Shikishi Art Board (Random 1 out of 4 designs)
- 1 x Japan Import W3 Mini Shikishi Art Board (Random 1 out of 4 designs)
- 1 x Japan Import W4 Reproduction Print (Random 1 out of 4 sets)
- 1 x Japan Import W5 Picture with Voice Actor Message
With the film getting a special screening, chances are that it will also get a wider release in the Philippines. Based on previous ODEX Philippines anime movie releases, it’s possible that Rascal Does Not Dream of Knapsack Kid will be released in cinemas in the Philippines later this month, likely in select SM Cinemas.
For those unfamiliar, Rascal Does Not Dream of Knapsack Kid is the third anime film in the Rascal Does Not Dream anime series. This series features a romance story with psychological and supernatural elements, making it different from your typical rom-com anime.
The anime series began with the 12-episode first season which aired in 2018. It was then followed up with anime film sequels: Rascal Does Not Dream of a Dreaming Girl and Rascal Does Not Dream of a Sister Venturing Out which were released in 2019 and 2023, respectively.
For now, there’s no word yet on a wide PH release date for Knapsack Kid.
