It has been confirmed that the Star Wars Outlaws release window will be sometime in 2024. The new open world game developed by Massive Entertainment set in a galaxy far, far away isn’t as far as we originally thought it would be.
Ever since the initial reveal for Star Wars Outlaws last year, Ubisoft has been quiet about when will it be in the hands of gamers. Not until it was confirmed by Star Wars IP owner, Disney, in an unusual place you wouldn’t think they’d talk about their gaming efforts, a blog on the Disney Parks website.
The post first talks about a lot of things in store for Disney’s properties such as resorts, amusement parks, and restaurants, which are pretty cool. But scrolling down to number 22, lo’ and behold, a short but sweet feature on Star Wars Outlaws can be seen.
“Star Wars Outlaws, the open-world Star Wars game is set to release in 2024.” The post says. While no specific date has been revealed, an earlier version of the blog did say that it would be “late 2024.” Hopefully, the minor edits they made meant that the game would be released sooner.
Ubisoft is at an interesting place when it comes to their open world games. Assassin’s Creed Mirage was a great shake up to the long-running franchise by sticking to what made it successful in the first place and Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora was a gorgeous new way to experience James Cameron’s vision. The latter was also a Massive Entertainment project. Consider me stoked to see what else they can do with the Star Wars universe through Outlaws.
