The new PS5 ‘Slim’ is finally coming to the Philippines on March 27

The PS5 "Slim" is finally coming to the Philippines next week!

After the console was released in the US and other countries back in November, it’s finally the PH’s turn as PlayStation announced that the new PS5 “Slim” model will be released in the Philippines next week.

Specifically, the console will be released in PlayStation Authorized retailers in the country on March 27, 2024. As revealed previously, the PS5 Slim will be priced in the Philippines at PHP 30,790.

Also, much like the original version of the PS5, this new version will only be officially released in the Blu-ray Disc version. This is no surprise given that the Philippines is not an officially supported region on the PlayStation Network.

Along with the new console, PlayStation will also release accessories. For starters, there’s the Vertical Stand that will be sold separately with an SRP of PHP 1,690. Yes, this means the slim version will no longer come with a vertical stand inside the box.

Meanwhile, there will also be new PS5 Console Covers that will also be available on the 27th for PHP 3,290 each. Colors for the covers include Volcanic Red, Cobalt Blue, and Sterling Silver.

Unlike the original PS5 which had to be pre-ordered due to chip shortages and high demand, it’s expected that the PS5 Slim will be much easier to buy. This, coupled with the fact that we just saw the release of FF7 Rebirth should make this a compelling purchase for those who have yet to buy a PS5.
