Gundam fans in the PH are in for a treat as Gundam Seed Freedom is coming to the Philippines in a special fan’s screening next week.
The fan’s screening date was revealed on the ODEX Philippines Facebook page, and it is happening on April 13 at SM Megamall (you can get tickets now at the SM Tickets website). As with other screenings of its kind, each ticket is priced at a premium. For this one, tickets are priced at PHP 1,650 each, though they do come with a variety of freebies on top of the actual screening ticket, including:
- 1 T-Shirt
- 1 Japan Import W1 Novel (1 out of 2 Designs)
- 1 Japan Import W2 Mini Setting Booklet
- 1 Japan Import W4 Character & Mecha Stand (1 out of 3 Designs)
- 1 Japan Import W5 A5 Illustration Card (Kira Yamato)
- 1 Japan Import W6 A6 Sticker
Gundam Seed Freedom is the latest Mobile Suit Gundam film, and as its title implies, it is part of the Seed sub-series. This is a proper sequel to Gundam Seed Destiny, making it a film that many long-time series fans have been anticipating for a while now. After all, Gundam Seed Destiny was released nearly two decades ago now.
For now, there’s no word yet on a wider release date for Gundam Seed Freedom in the Philippines.
In related news, Gundam Factory Yokohama is now closed, meaning fans can no longer see the Moving Gundam near Yokohama’s Yamashita Park.
