After its release in Japanese cinemas back in February, the Haikyuu: The Dumpster Battle movie finally has an official cinema release date in the Philippines.
Previously, Medialink (via Anime News Network) revealed that the new Haikyuu film will be released in Southeast Asian cinemas in May 2024. Now, the Haikyuu movie is officially coming to PH cinemas on May 15, 2024. This was confirmed by Ani-One Asia.
The movie is confirmed to be released by Medialink in the Philippines, Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, Vietnam, and Thailand. Along with these six SEA countries, the movie will also be screened by Medialink in India next month.
Aside from SEA and India, the movie is also distributed by the company in Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan, where the film is now screening in.
Haikyuu: The Dumpster Battle is an anime film by Production I.G, and it’s the first of the two-part finale movie project. This two-part film will serve as the finale to the ever-popular Haikyuu anime series.
In this first part, Karasuno High will face off against Nekoma High in what is known as the Battle of the Garbage Dump. While manga readers should already know what happens, the film still promises to be a must-watch as it puts one of the best matches of the series on the big screen. Of course, for anime-only fans, this is required viewing as it serves as the first half of the anime’s finale.
For now, there’s no word yet on an official Philippines cinema list for the Haikyuu: The Dumpster Battle movie. More info on where it will be screened will likely be revealed in the coming weeks.
In related news, the Uniqlo x Haikyuu collection for the Dumpster Battle movie was released in PH stores.
