It has been 13 years since the second season, but finally, Kimi ni Todoke Season 3 is coming this August on Netflix.
The original Kimi ni Todoke anime got two seasons from Production I.G, and while the manga wrapped up in 2017, the anime has not gotten a new season since 2011. Finally though, Production I.G is back with a new season. And before you ask, yes this is a proper continuation of the story instead of a remake.
While the show has been announced previously, a new trailer was finally released by Netflix with English subtitles. You can check it out here:
The new season features a similar art style to the original series, albeit with a more modern touch. Though fans will be happy to know that even if the anime is touched up visually, the original cast are returning for this new season. These include the voice actors Mamiko Noto as Sawako, Daisuke Namikawa as Shota, and Miyuki Sawashiro as Ayane.
Netflix being the streaming platform partner for the series isn’t too surprising. After all, Netflix has a Kimi ni Todoke live-action series adaptation which was released last year.
The third season of Kimi ni Todoke is coming to Netflix worldwide this August, though there’s no word yet on a specific release date.
