After its reveal back in June 2023, ATLUS is set to share more info on the upcoming JRPG Metaphor: ReFantazio next week via a special broadcast.
Specifically, SEGA announced that ATLUS’s Studio Zero will host a special broadcast on April 23 that will reveal more info about the team’s upcoming JRPG.
This broadcast will be 30 minutes long, and it will go live on the SEGA Asia Channel on the 23rd at 6 AM PHT. The Metaphor: ReFantazio broadcast will be available worldwide with English subtitles. It will also feature the game’s director, Katsura Hoshino (of the Persona series).
For those who missed its initial reveal, what makes Metaphor: ReFantazio an exciting game is that it’s being made by Studio Zero, the same team behind Persona 3, 4, and 5. Yes, that means this game will feature familiar gameplay systems for long-time Persona fans. There’s also the fact that the game’s art character designer is Shigenori Soejima while its composer Shoji Meguro. These two are also Persona series veterans.
While it shares a lot of DNA with Persona, this game promises to be its own thing. After all, it features a medieval fantasy setting that’s a big departure from Persona’s high school locations.
Metaphor Re:Fantazio will be released on Xbox Series X|S, PS5, PS4, and PC via Steam in Fall 2024.
