Parasyte: The Grey is out now, and to show off its impressive effects and sets, Netflix shared a “The Making of” featurette that’s a must-watch for fans of the series.
In case you missed it, the series was released on Netflix last Friday, April 5, and it has become a big hit as it topped the TV show charts in the Philippines and other countries just days after it was released.
Many viewers were delighted (and no doubt scared) by the show’s impressive and grotesque effects, especially involving the parasitic creatures. In this new “Making of” featurette, Netflix goes behind the scenes on how the show’s visuals were made. You can check it out here:
As its title implies, this new series is a live-action adaptation of Hitoshi Iwaaki’s Parasyte manga. While it changes up the story (given that it’s a Korean production), the series still sticks close to the sci-fi horror premise of the original work.
The show’s story is described as:
“The series follows the aftermath when one too many extraterrestrial larvae flop onto Earth in an attempt to take over humankind. As a powerful team called the Grey work to eradicate the threat by any means necessary, one woman must coexist with the parasite that lives inside her.”
If you haven’t seen it yet, you can watch Parasyte: The Grey right now on Netflix.
