Ubisoft just announced that Assassin’s Creed Mirage is coming to iOS this June – yes, that means you’ll be able to play the full game on iOS, the same as the one on PC and consoles.
Wondering how this works? Well, the game won’t run on the cloud. Instead, it will run natively on the iOS device so long as it packs Apple’s A17 Pro chip or the M1 Chip for an iPad. This means the game will be playable only on the iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 15 Pro Max, iPad Air, and iPad Pro.
Mirage’s release is a bit unexpected, though it’s not too surprising given that Apple has shown that its A17 Pro chip can run modern triple-A games. While older phones won’t be able to run it, this release should be great news down the line, especially as future iPhone models should be able to run games like these.
Does this also mean an Android release is on the cards? Probably not anytime soon considering that even the top-of-the-line Android chipsets still aren’t as powerful as Apple’s chips.
Assassin’s Creed Mirage will be released on iOS on June 6, and each purchase will give owners access to the game on both iPhone and iPad. Pre-orders are available here, but for those who want to wait until launch, the game’s first 90 minutes will be free to download and play on launch day.
In case you haven’t played it yet and want the console/PC experience (or if your iOS device isn’t compatible), Assassin’s Creed Mirage is out now on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC. If you need more convincing though, you can check out our review.
