It has been over a year now since the first season’s last episode, and finally, Blue Lock Season 2 is officially set to release this October.
When the anime premiered in October 2022, Blue Lock became a huge hit thanks in part to the ongoing World Cup at the time. After all, Blue Lock Season 1 aired at the time when Japan’s national football team had a fairytale run during the group stage. Of course, the show also features a lot of memorable characters and a gripping battle royale-style sports story that makes it an entertaining watch.
So, it wasn’t surprising to see it get renewed for a second season shortly after the first season ended. It may have taken a while before more details were revealed, but now Blue Lock Season 2 is confirmed to premiere in October 2024.
The next season’s release was announced via the anime’s official X (formerly Twitter) account. Its release announcement came alongside a special illustration drawn by the series’ co-creator Yusuke Nomura.
