While not exactly part of the Spring 2024 lineup, Crunchyroll announced that it will stream the Dead Dead Demons Dededede Destruction anime this week in the Philippines and in many other regions.
This new anime is based on the manga by Inio Asano, the creator of the critically acclaimed Goodnight, Punpun. Dead Dead Demons Dededede Destruction was released in Japanese cinemas as a two-part movie, with Part 1 being released on March 22 while Part 2 will screen in Japanese cinemas on May 24.
For its international Crunchyroll release, Dead Dead Demons Dededede Destruction will be split into 18 episodes instead of the movie cut, with the first episode set to premiere on May 24 at 11 AM Philippine time. As a bonus, the episode version will feature new footage that aren’t in the theatrical release.
To get a better idea of what to expect, the film’s premise is described as:
“As the world is threatened by the sudden appearance of a mysterious alien mothership, best friends Kadode Koyama and Oran “Ontan” Nakagawa carry on about their high school life. But as they grow up, they face existential questions, learning adulthood’s complexities and that the true threat may not be from above.”
This film also stars Lilas Ikuta and ano in the lead roles of Kadode Koyama and Oran Nakagawa. Lilas Ikuta is best known for being the vocalist of YOASOBI while ano is a popular Japanese singer who has performed songs for anime like Chainsaw Man.

- Koki Uchiyama (Tomura Shigaraki in My Hero Academia) as Kenichi Kohiruimaki
- Taito Ban (Jinwoo Sung in Solo Leveling) as Watarase
- Junichi Suwabe (Shota Aizawa in My Hero Academia) as Hiroshi Nakagawa
- Kenjiro Tsuda (Kento Nanami in JUJUTSU KAISEN) as Nobuo Koyama
- Naoto Takenaka (Entei IN Pokémon 3: The Movie) as Chairman

New episodes of Dead Dead Demons Dededede Destruction will be released on Crunchyroll every week beginning May 24, 2024.
