While it is still a ways away, HoYoverse revealed the updated system requirements for the future Genshin Impact Version 5.0 update.
The game’s Version 4.6 update was only released two weeks ago, HoYoverse is already gearing up for the big Version 5.0 update. In preparation, HoYoverse announced the game’s updated performance requirements.
These new Genshin Impact Version 5.0 performance requirements may be a bit misleading at first glance. Instead of being the minimum required to run the game, devices with these specs or under will see a reduction in visual quality. This means devices that are above these specs will be able to enjoy the visual enhancements planned for Version 5.0.
So, here are the specs for the devices that will see a reduction in visual quality:
- iOS
- Models with an A12 processor (or lower)
- Android
- Models with a Snapdragon 865, Dimensity 1200 (8050), Kirin 9000SL, or Samsung Exynos 1080 processor (or lower)
- PlayStation
- PlayStation 4 Series (all)
- Visual performance will be reduced (compared to the current version) after the Version 5.0 update on the above devices.
Specifically, players with these devices or lower will have reduced resolution of some image details and smaller objects will decrease. While not ideal, this is still good news for players on older devices as the game will still support them, even if it’s at the cost of some graphical fidelity.
For now, there’s no word yet on when Version 5.0 will be released, though it will likely be a massive update for the game as it is a major Genshin Impact milestone.
Aside from enhanced graphics, players should expect lots of new content which HoYoverse will likely reveal in the coming months.
