Elden Ring Patch 1.12 buffs Blessing enhancements in DLC

This update may help players struggling in the Elden Ring DLC's early stages.

With Shadow of the Erdtree being out now for nearly a week, Bandai Namco and FromSoftware announced the Elden Ring the patch 1.12 update, and it features a buff for Blessing Enhancements.

Details about the new patch were shared on Bandai Namco’s website. It’s not a big update in terms of in-game changes as the patch solely changes how Blessings from Scadutree Fragments scale.

Instead of a flat increase per new Blessing level, attacks and damage negation have been increased in the first 10 enhancements, though the second half will have a more gradual increase. To account for this, the attack and damage negation of the final enhancement level has also been increased.

These may not seem like small changes, but they do add up a lot in the early game of the DLC as they give even more survivability against Shadow of the Erdtree’s earlier bosses.

It’s not clear if this was done in response to the player complaints about the DLC’s difficulty, though this isn’t the first time that FromSoftware made balance changes. After all, there have been many patches over the past two years that made big changes to bosses and weapon numbers. Plus, more balance changes will be made in a future patch as indicated in the 1.12 patch notes.

Outside of gameplay, the patch for PC should also fix the times when the game has raytracing turned on when a player has a previously loaded saved data from previous game versions. For those experiencing sluggish performance, players are asked to check if the Raytracing Quality setting is set to on.

Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree is available now on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC.
