Samsung unveils new Odyssey OLED, Smart Monitor and ViewFinity monitor lineup

Here's a look at Samsung's newest gaming and creativity-focused monitors.

Samsung recently launched its new lineup of monitors for 2024, including new models in the Odyssey OLED, Smart Monitor, and ViewFinity lineups. To go along with the new monitors, Samsung also announced that buyers can get big discounts on select displays until early next week.

To start with the new Samsung monitor lineup, we have the Odyssey OLED series which includes the Odyssey OLED G8 (G80SD model) and Odyssey OLED G6 (G60SD model).

The G8 is a flat 32” OLED gaming monitor with a 4K UHD (3840 x 2160) resolution, a 16:9 aspect ratio, a 240Hz refresh rate, and 0.03ms gray-to-gray (GtG) response time. Given these, the G8 should be a great match for players who want a 4K screen for triple-A games that still has a fast refresh rate for esports titles.

Meanwhile, the G6 is a smaller 27-inch QHD (2560 x 1440) resolution monitor that also has a 16:9 aspect ratio and a 0.03ms GtG response time, though it has an even faster 360Hz refresh rate. Both screens also have FreeSync Premium Pro for a tear-free gaming experience, along with OLED Glare Free technology that reduces reflections.

Next, there’s the Smart Monitor lineup featuring the M8 (M80D model), M7 (M70D model), and M5 (M50D model). The M8 is a 32” 4K UHD Smart Monitor that packs an NQM AI processor that powers AI features like AI upscaling for lower-than-4K content, along with an Active Voice Amplifier Pro feature to optimize dialogue, among others.

As for the others, the M7 comes in 32” and 43” screen sizes with 4K UHD (3840 x 2160) resolution and a gray to gray (GtG) response time of 4ms. Meanwhile, M5 has 27” and 32” screens with FHD resolution (1920 x 1080) and a GtG response time of 4ms.

Finally, the ViewFinity line includes the S8 (S80UD and S80D models) and S6 (S60UD and S60D models). These monitors are made for creatives as they promise great color accuracy. As a bonus, the monitors are also made with a minimum of 10% recycled plastic.

The S80UD features 27” and 32” screen options, both with a 4K UHD (3840 x 2160) resolution, a refresh rate of 60Hz, and a brightness of 350 nits (Typ.). Meanwhile, the S60UD also has 27″ and 32″ options.

Select models of the are also available for pre-order via the official website, with pricing details also shown. As for the sale, buyers can get up to 25% discounts with savings of up to PHP 21,075  on select Smart, OLED Gaming, and High Resolution Monitors.
