Just two weeks after the new version’s launch, ATLUS announced that Shin Megami Tensei V has now sold over 1.6 million copies worldwide, meaning it’s another big hit for ATLUS and SEGA for 2024.

To be exact, this 1.6 million copies sold figure is based on Shin Megami Tensei V packaged shipment and digital download numbers. From the looks of it, these numbers are based on both the sales of the original version for the Switch along with the enhanced re-release titled Vengeance for consoles and PC.

ATLUS also shared specific numbers for Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance. This new RPG was released on June 14, and just three days after its launch, the game has already surpassed 500,000 units in total worldwide sales (including both physical copy shipments and digital downloads).

To mark this milestone, ATLUS shared a special visual celebrating the game’s success.

This marks yet another successful launch this year for ATLUS as Persona 3 Reload was also a bestseller when it launched earlier this year. If you extend the scope to SEGA, you’ll also see that 2024 has been an excellent year so far as both Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth and Granblue Fantasy: Relink have sold over a million copies each.

Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance is out now on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam.
