Following its premiere last week, Disney revealed that The Acolyte is the biggest Disney+ premiere of 2024 so far with 11.1 million views globally in less than a week.
To be exact, the first two episodes of The Acolyte got 4.8 million views during their premiere day on June 5, with a total of 11.1 million views around the world after five days. Thanks to this, it is now Disney’s biggest Disney+ premiere of the year, indicating a big interest in this new Star Wars show.
In case you missed it, The Acolyte is a new Star Wars Disney+ original series that’s set 100 years before Episode I, and it tells the story of an investigation that pits a Jedi master against a dangerous warrior from the past.
Aside from its intriguing story and setting, the series also features lots of big-name stars. These include Lee Jung-Jae as Jedi Master Sol. Jung-Jae is best known for his role as Seong Gi-hun, the protagonist of the global hit series Squid Game. Also part of the cast is Carrie-Anne Moss, the iconic actress of Trinity from The Matrix.
