As promised in late June, a new ATLUS Exclusive showcase spotlighted the story of Metaphor: ReFantazio, the upcoming RPG from Studio Zero.
Of course, the story isn’t the only highlight of the showcase as ATLUS also showed off new gameplay clips. If you ask us though, one of the most intriguing parts is the class of monsters which are called “Humans.” That’s because these monsters’ designs are inspired by the rather disturbing yet memorable paintings of Hieronymus Bosch, the renowned Dutch painter known for his iconic painting “The Garden of Earthly Delights.”
Other highlights include details on the key character Louis, along with other intriguing details. You can watch the entire stream here:
Along with the showcase, you can also check out the game’s story trailer for more details on what will happen:
This won’t be the last showcase before the game ends though as the next ATLUS Exclusive is already set to happen soon. The next stream will feature the game’s director Katsura Hashino, though more details, including its stream date, will be shared soon.
Finally, ATLUS kicked off a worldwide tour for the game that’s detailed in a new website. Titled ATLUS 35th ANNIVERSARY WORLD TOUR – Road to Metaphor: ReFantazio, this tour will bring game demos, onstage events, and other activities in events around the world. These include the recently concluded Anime Expo in Los Angeles and the upcoming BiliBili World in Shanghai.
Metaphor: ReFantazio will be released on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, and PC on October 11, 2024.
