After the film’s release in the US a few weeks ago, Pinoy fans are finally in for a treat as Blue Lock: Episode Nagi has an official Philippines cinema release date.
To be exact, the Blue Lock: Episode Nagi anime film’s release date in the Philippines is July 31. This was confirmed in posts by the MedialinkFilms Philippines and Viewers’ Choice Philippines official Facebook pages.
These announcements didn’t come as a surprise to many fans though, especially considering that the movie’s PH release was teased a few days ago by SM Cinema, meaning it is all but confirmed to be an SM Cinema exclusive.
The film getting a PH release isn’t too surprising considering how popular the Blue Lock anime is. There’s also the fact that sports anime are quite popular in the Philippines, as proven by the successful theatrical run of the Haikyuu movie recently.
As for the movie’s story, Blue Lock: Episode Nagi is a spinoff of the TV anime, and as its title implies, it follows Seishiro Nagi. The film features segments that happen before and during the TV anime’s first season.
While the Blue Lock movie is coming to PH cinemas on July 31, there’s no word yet on an official cinema list. We’ll likely get the full details in the next week or so.
Aside from this film, fans can also look forward to Blue Lock season 2 which will premiere this October.
