After Version 2.3’s release in June, HoYoverse unveiled the upcoming Version 2.4 update for Honkai: Star Rail, and it’s coming at the end of this month.
The new update is titled “Finest Duel Under the Pristine Blue” and its highlights include the new story addition, the new map, and two new five-star characters.
For the update’s story content, the crew of the Astral Express is heading to the Xianzhou Luofu. HoYoverse describes the new story content as:
In the new version update, the captivating story of the Wardance ceremony will unfold. While the Ambrosial Arbor crisis has been resolved, the Trailblazers remain crucial witnesses to Xianzhou Luofu’s ongoing saga. The Wardance festival commemorates the Reighbow Arbiter and the Cloud Knight’s victory against the Abominations of Abundance. This year’s Wardance aims to uplift the spirits of Luofu residents after the recent crisis and arrives as an invitation to allies and friends in a gesture of peace and hospitality. Trailblazers will reunite with familiar faces such as Yanqing and meet significant figures such as the Merlin’s Claw — General Feixiao of Xianzhou Yaoqing — and the Flaming Heart — General Huaiyan of Xianzhou Zhuming.
As for the new map, it’s called The Shackling Prison, and it is where the realm’s most notorious criminals are held. This prison is located underneath the waters of the Scalegorge Waterscape, and it is also inhabited by wolflike monsters called Borisin.
As for the new five-star characters, the first is Yunli, a delegate from Xianzhou Zhuming. Yunli is a Physical-Type character following the Path of Destruction, and her unique ability is Counter. When she is attacked, Yunli immediately Counters, dealing damage to both the target and nearby enemies. After using her Ultimate, Yunli enters the Parry state which reduces damage taken and Taunts all enemies. Plus, this state also gives Yunli enhanced CRIT DMG, with her Counter being improved to a Powerful Counter which deals increased damage.
The other five-star is Jiaoqiu of the Xianzhou Yaoqing delegates. Jiaoqiu is a Fire-Type character on the Path of Nihility, and anny attack that Jiaoqiu does can inflict the Ashen Roast debuff. Enemies with this debuff will suffer from the Burn State, and as the Ashen Roast stacks grow, enemies will get even more damage. As for his Ultimate, Jiaoqiu transforms the battlefield into one big yuanyang hot pot, enhancing Ashen Roast debuffs on enemies and increases Ultimate DMG received by enemies.
Along with these two five-stars, players can also see the fan-favorite March 7th embark on journey as a swordmaster apprentice under Yunli and Yanqing. In this update, March 7th will get an array of interesting new combat interactions.
Finally, HoYoverse revealed its upcoming collab with Fate/stay night [Unlimited Blade Works] that will launch in the third quarter of 2025. As its launch is still a year away, fans will need to wait a while longer before more info is shared.
