Honor of Kings reveals more Invitational Midseason details

Here's what to expect in Honor of Kings' big esports tournament.

Ahead of the Esports World Cup this week, Level Infinite revealed more details about the Honor of Kings Invitational Midseason.

In case you missed it, the Invitational Midseason is the HOK’s big tournament that’s happening in Riyadh during the Esports World Cup from August 1 to 4. There, twelve teams from around the world will face off for glory and for the lion’s share of the the USD 3 million prize pool.

The HOK Invitational Midseason 2024 will have a single round-robin format in its group stage. At this stage, the teams will be divided into six groups, and at the end of the round-robin, the four top teams in each group will advance to the knockout stages (aka the playoffs).

These knockout stages will begin on August 3 and will feature best-of-three matches. When only four teams are remaining in the semifinals stage, the matches will become best-of-five. Finally, the finals will see the last two teams contend for the championship.

The final slot will be determined today as the SEA Showdown pits Indonesia’s Rex Regum Qeon and Philippines’ BOOM Esports. These two teams will face off today at 3 PM, and it will be streamed on Honor of Kings’ official channels.

As the game’s first major tournament after the global launch, Honor of Kings launched the exclusive Esports World Cup skin called Heavenblade for Allain, to celebrate the exciting event.

On top of the new skin, players can also earn event currency during the tournament by logging in, playing matches, and spectating matches. After getting currency, players can use them to flip the the 12 squares that represent the 12 teams in the tournament. Rewards can be claimed when flipping the 3rd, 6th, 9th, and 12th squares. Once completed, players can also participate in a lucky draw that will reward the Allain skin, x20 Diamonds, and more.

Finally, Honor of Kings is releasing a theme song for the Honor of Kings Esports called “Invincible.” This song was produced by the Grammy-award nominated producer Mighty Mike and mixed by the Grammy-award winning audio mixer Tom Norris. This song will also get a dedicated music video that will be released tomorrow, July 31.

The Honor of Kings Invitational Midseason, 2024 Riyadh will be streamed live on YouTube, Facebook, Twitch.tv, TikTok, and the Honor of Kings’ in-game TV.
