To celebrate its laptops’ 20th anniversary, MSI held an event at SM North EDSA in late June which featured special activities and an array of discounts.
As MSI was founded in 1986, the brand is actually nearly 40 years old, though this anniversary celebration is for its laptop lineup. As such, the event at SM North EDSA featured a mini-exhibition that shows MSI’s laptop history dating back to 2004.
There, attendees got to see some older laptops along with some of MSI’s latest eye-catching devices, including the collaboration with racing brand Mercedes-AMG, 2023’s Stealth 16 Mercedes-AMG Motorsport edition.
Aside from the exhibition, the event area also featured MSI’s laptops, components, and accessories for gamers to see and try out. All of this while attendees got to enjoy an array of programs.
The event’s main stage program was hosted by BeefMami and featured raffles for attendees which gave away Lanyards and Brick Calendars to Drawstring Bags and Felting Desk Pads. Then, there was the Day 1 Tekken Tournament with a PHP 20,000 prize pool. This tournament saw Elijah Fernan Espera take home the top spot, winning a cool PHP 12,000.
Other highlights of the event include the Meet and Greet with MSI Ambassadress Biancake, along with the Day 2 Cosplay Competition judged by Charess, Roxanne Kho, and EJ Quintos. As a bonus, there was also a Meet and Greet session with Charess & Roxanne Kho.
Finally, the event featured a special promo where buyers of select devices at the MSI Concept Store SM North EDSA got to take home 20th Anniversary MSI freebies, with the first 20 buyers of any laptop getting a USD 50 Steam Wallet code.
