My Home Hero The Movie coming to Disney+ this week

This movie serves as the conclusion to the My Home Hero Disney+ series

Following the film’s premiere in Japan back in March, My Home Hero The Movie is finally coming to Disney+ in the Philippines on July 12.

While many are no doubt familiar with My Home Hero thanks to the anime that aired in late Fall 2023, the series also got a live-action adaptation. To be exact, the live-action adaptation consists of a TV series and a movie. These two adaptations are related as the movie serves as the conclusion of the TV series’ story. As such, the film is a must-watch for fans who enjoyed the TV drama.

For those who have not seen it yet, the My Home Hero live-action series is streaming on Disney+, and its story is described as:

“The original My Home Hero series saw unremarkable businessman Tetsuo Tosu evade imprisonment after killing his daughter’s abusive boyfriend. The series followed Tetsuo as he used knowledge gained from years of reading mystery novels to throw police off his scent and handle gang leader Kyoichi Majima.”

As for the movie, its synopsis reads:

“Set seven years after the dramatic conclusion to the series, My Home Hero The Movie opens with a landslide uncovering the hidden body of the daughter’s boyfriend. With a whole host of fresh evidence for their investigation, police officers led by Tetsuo’s daughter, Detective Reika Tosu begin to put the pieces together, drawing ever closer to uncovering what Tetsuo did all those years ago. With both police and local gangsters once again hunting for the murderer, will Tetsuo be smart enough to evade capture again or will he finally pay for what he did?”

My Home Hero The Movie will be released on Disney+ in the Philippines and other select regions on July 12, 2024.=
