One Piece Season 2 officially begins production

We can't wait to see the Straw Hat Crew's next adventure!

Fresh after announcing new cast members, Netflix revealed that One Piece Season 2 has finally entered production in Cape Town, South Africa.

The second season kicking off production was revealed in a special announcement video released by Netflix, and it shows the show’s five main cast as they come to Cape Town to film the next adventures of the Straw Hat Crew.

Specifically, returning cast members  Iñaki Godoy (Monkey D. Luffy), Mackenyu (Zoro), Emily Rudd (Nami), Jacob Romero (Usopp), and Taz Skylar (Sanji) are shown arriving on set aboard the Going Merry. You can check out the video here:

Based on the manga’s next arcs, the Straw Hat Crew will encounter lots of new characters, many of whom were revealed in the recent cast announcement. For now though, other major characters have yet to be announced, though more info will be shared soon.

If you ask us, we can’t wait to see who will voice the adorable Chopper, not to mention that how Chopper will look in live-action is something that many fans are no doubt looking forward to.

As the second season has only just begun production, chances are that it will be released in 2025 at the earliest, though an early 2026 release may be likelier given how long post-production will take.

In case you haven’t seen it yet, the first season of the live-action One Piece is streaming now exclusively on Netflix.
