OPPO and Smart Telecommunications have announced the successful test of the Reno12 Series 5G’s AI LinkBoost technology.
During the lineup’s recent launch, LinkBoost was billed as one of the Reno12 Series 5G’s highlight features as it promises to deliver strong signals, seamless switching between WiFi and mobile data, and quickly recovering signals in areas with network interference.
This was proven in OPPO and Smart’s recent tests in various locations around Metro Manila as the AI Linkboost tech of OPPO’s mid-range lineup was able to deliver its promise. Here are some numbers that OPPO and Smart got in their tests:
- Weak Signal Areas: The Reno12 Pro 5G logged downlink speeds of 20.96 MBPS and uplink speeds of 16.41 MBPS in weak signal areas, outperforming competitor devices.
- Network Switch Tests: The Reno12 Series 5G excelled in maintaining seamless transitions from public and private WiFi to mobile data, with connection times significantly faster than other devices.
- Crowded Areas: The Reno12 5G sent photos and videos in an average of 9.58 seconds in congested areas, showcasing superior file transfer speeds.
- Signal Recovery: The Reno12 Series 5G demonstrated the fastest signal recovery times in elevators and underpasses, ensuring reliable connectivity in challenging environments.
For those wondering, LinkBoost works by using a system-level AI model with a 360º Surround Antenna solution consisting of nine individual antennas. As such, it’s a combination of AI software with enhanced connectivity hardware.
