PUBG Mobile takes the top spot in the PH App Store

Now this is a surprise.

Even though it has been years since its initial release, Level Infinite’s PUBG Mobile surprisingly grabbed the top spot in the PH App Store.

To be exact, PUBG Mobile took the top spot in Apple’s App Store Free Games chart in the Philippines. It’s not clear exactly why the game took first place in the chart, though one of the likely reasons is the array of updates, collabs, and esports events.

For instance, there’s the Spy x Family crossover back in April. There’s also the array of supercar marque collabs over the years, with the latest one being a team-up with Bentley earlier this year.

Aside from in-game collabs, PUBG Mobile Philippines also has community-driven collabs. For starters, the game had a collaboration with SB19 Ken aka FELIP which came with an Avatar, Avatar Frame, Voice Pack, and Graffiti that he designed.

Thanks to its success, PUBG Mobile and FELIP’s collab will have a second phase. More details about this will be shared soon, though what’s confirmed is that FELIP’s song “Wrath” will become available for lobby and vehicle music in-game.

On the esports side of things, PUBG Mobile Team Harame Bro secured a slot to the 2024 PUBG Mobile World Cup after winning the PUBG Mobile Challengers League-Southeast Asia (PMCL SEA) Summer Split.

The PUBG Mobile World Cup is the mid-season international event for the game’s esports circuit, and it will take place in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia from July 19 to 28. There, Team Harame Bro will be the lone PH representative.

Finally, fans can look forward to a bunch of new content in-game, including the Ocean Odyssey which will feature underwater-themed gameplay. There’s also the New Royale Pass Ace 8 which will be available starting July 16th, and it will feature a a total prize pool worth over 80,000 UC.

Finally, fans can look forward to the World of Wonder which will feature a variety of Tower Defense gameplay, along with the new season of Metro Royale titled “Metro Royale: Zombie Uprising.”

PUBG Mobile is available now on iOS and Android devices.
