After revealing the Marvel vs. Capcom fighting collection in June, the new Capcom Fighting Collection 2 was announced at the recent Nintendo Direct.
As its name implies, this is a collection of classic Capcom fighting games. More excitingly for many older fighting game fans is the fact that the collection features the two Capcom vs. SNK games from the early 2000s.
Here’s a rundown of all eight games in the collection:
- Capcom vs. SNK: Millennium Fight 2000 Pro
- Capcom vs. SNK 2: Mark of the Millennium 2001
- Capcom Fighting Evolution
- Street Fighter Alpha 3 UPPER
- Project Justice
- Power Stone
- Power Stone 2
- Plasma Sword: Nightmare of Bilstein

Aside from the single player game mode, there are also various match types with online battles. These include:
- Casual Match – A game mode where player can match with each other on the same title for relaxed gameplay.
- Ranked Match – For players who want something more competitive, there’s the Ranked Match option which is also split per title. Here, players will compete with others from around the world, with a leaderboard for the top rankings.
- Custom Match – Here, players can opt to use their preferred rules, and they can also spectate matches.
- High Score Challenge – Another mode for more competitive players, this challenge allows players to compete for high scores in each game, and it also features a separate leaderboard.
On top of the new multiplayer modes, this collection also comes with the following new features:
- Training Mode – Here, players can practice special moves and combos before they challenge other players in online play.
- Screen Filters – The games in the collection have the option to play with with screen filters to emulate the look of classic arcades. Players can also set the display to theirpreferred size.
- Fighter Awards (Achievements) – Most of the titles in the collection have Fighter Awards that are unlocked as you play, and they can provide useful hints.
- Marquee Card – This feature is made for newer players as it allows them to check the arcade version’s instruction card at any time in offline play.
- One-button Special Moves – Aside from the standard controls, players can also customize button layouts, with an option for one-button special moves.
- Gallery – This gallery features key art and character illustrations from the featured titles, including concept art.
- Music – Here, players can play the background music used in the included titles.
The Capcom Fighting Collection 2 will be released on PS4, Switch, and PC sometime in 2025.
