Death Stranding 2 stage event happening at Tokyo Game Show 2024: What to expect

Hideo Kojima will go on stage alongside various guests at this year's Tokyo Game Show!

With Tokyo Game Show 2024 just a month away, Kojima Productions announced that Death Stranding 2 will get a special stage event at TGS.

The upcoming stage event was revealed via Kojima Productions’ official social media pages. It will take place on September 29 at 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM JST, and it will feature some of the game’s Japanese voice cast members, including:

  • Kenjiro Tsuda (Sam Porter Bridges)
  • Nana Mizuki (Fragile)
  • Tomokazu Sugita
  • Shion Wakayama

Along with these four, the stage event will also feature popular singer Daichi Miura (who also appeared as the Musician in the first game), Drive director Nicolas Winding Refn (Heartman), and Hideo Kojima himself.

This stage event is reminiscent of the one back in Tokyo Game Show 2019 which also featured the game’s Japanese voice cast members on stage. As such, the stage presentation will likely be geared towards Japanese fans, though it should still be worth seeing for international audiences as Kojima might share more info.

It’s not clear if Death Stranding 2: On the Beach will also get a new trailer, but chances are good that there will at least be a new teaser. Since the game was announced back in the 2022 Game Awards, the game has only gotten one showcase since which happened earlier this year at PlayStation’s State of Play. While it featured lots of footage, most of it was cutscenes.

Hopefully, Tokyo Game Show 2024 will showcase proper Death Stranding 2 gameplay footage. It will likely share the same core gameplay as the first game, though it’ll be interesting to see what new features Kojima has cooked up for this sequel.

Death Stranding 2: On The Beach will be released on the PS5 sometime in 2025.
