At this year’s Gamescom, Playground Games announced the new Hide & Seek game mode for Forza Horizon 5 Horizon Festival that’s coming on September 10.
Yes, in this game mode, players will essentially play hide and seek, but with cars. To be exact, this mode will feature six players, one of which is the Hider. The player designated as the Hider must get to a select location within a certain time limit, all without being caught by the team of Seekers. To hide, the Hider must blend in with traffic or hide in the environment.
For this mode, the Hider will be able to drive the following models:
- 2012 Jeep Wrangler
- 2017 Ford F-150 Raptor
- 2017 Chevrolet Colorado ZR2
- 2018 Mercedes X Class
Meanwhile, the remaining five players will be the Seekers, and their goal is to find the Hider and stay close to them. By doing so, Seekers can fill up their Detection Meter, and when it gets filled, the team wins the round.
Seekers will be able to drive the following cars:
- 2016 BMW M4 GTS
- 2017 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1
- 2011 Mercedes SLS AMG
- 2015 Audi RS6
- 2008 Mitsubishi Lancer Evo X GSR
- 2021 Ford Bronco
- 2016 Toyota Land Cruiser Arctic Trucks AT37
- 2017 Nissan GT-R (R35)
- 2016 Ariel Nomad
- 2004 SUBARU Impreza WRX STi
- 1984 Peugeot 205 Turbo 16
Note that players won’t be able to use their own liveries, tunes, and builds as this mode will feature a special build for cars.
The Forza Horizon 5 Hide & Seek mode won’t just be plain driving and hiding though as players also have a bunch of abilities. For the Hider, there’s the Chase Breaker ability which forces Seekers to brake and turn off their abilities for 20 seconds. This should give them time to hide after being spotted.
Meanwhile, the Seekers have a Radar pointing the approximate location of the Hider. The also have the Ping ability to show the exact location of the Hider on the map for 20 seconds.
Hide & Seek will be available beginning September 10 as part of the Hidden Horizons series.
