After season one ended in late June, the Kaiju No. 8 anime’s Season 2 is finally confirmed to premiere in 2025.
Details were shared on the show’s official social media pages and website. Along with its 2025 release window, the anime’s second season also got a short teaser trailer that gives fans a taste of what to expect.
You can check out the trailer here:
The trailer also came with an interesting announcement. It revealed that a compilation film version of the first anime season is in the works, complete with a special anime episode.
This new episode is titled “Hoshina’s Day Off.” While there weren’t any other details shared, the title pretty much confirms that the bonus episode will show what fan-favorite Soshiro Hoshina does on his day off.
As with other compilation film releases, the Kaiju No. 8 Season 1 compilation will be released in Japanese cinemas in 2025, with the bonus Hoshina episode also set to be screened alongside the film.
Currently, there’s no word yet on when the compilation film will be released in theaters. There’s also no word on release plans for the movie outside Japan. Given that the bonus episode was also confirmed in the anime’s official X (formerly Twitter) account, chances are that it will get a proper English streaming release soon.
As for Kaiju No. 8 Season 2, there’s also no info yet on a specific release date. As the first season aired in the Spring 2024 season, chances are that the upcoming season will premiere in Spring 2025 at the earliest.
In other anime news, the Look Back anime film is coming to PH cinemas later this month.
