After its launch in July, Capcom announced that Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess has reached over 500,000 players, meaning the game is officially a big hit.
For those who missed its launch, Kunitsu-Gami is an action-strategy game that blends action and tower defense gameplay. How it works is that the gameplay has two phases, with the first being the daytime preparatory phase where players must rescue villagers and set up defensive items. The second is the nighttime phase where evil spirits attack, and players must defend the village.
Despite being an all-new IP, Kunitsu-Gami has turned out to be a big hit for Capcom as the game has reached over 500,000 players since its launch on July 19.
To celebrate the major milestone, players will receive three Mazo Talismans that can be equipped on the main character. These talismans are available to all players and those who will buy the game in the future.
The Mazo Talismans each have unique designs and effects. These include:
- Mazo Talisman: Jubilee – the villagers near the player start dancing in turn
- Mazo Talisman: Dancing Crane – normal attacks are replaced by dancing and fireworks are shot off during the dancing technique
- Okami Mazo Talisman: Amaterasu – flowers bloom at Soh’s feet as he moves
Along with the Talismans, Capcom also shared the first part of a special making-of video series. To be exact, the first video explores the game’s setting and it includes interviews with the creators. You can watch it here:
