Monster Hunter Wilds Gamescom trailer reveals a new monster and locale

This fearsome spider-like monster is called the Lala Barina, and it patrols the Scarlet Forest.

Among the many reveals at Gamescom 2024 Opening Night Live was the third trailer for Monster Hunter Wilds which showcased a new monster and locale, namely the Lala Barina and the Scarlet Forest.

While not the longest trailer, it’s still a must-watch for fans as it features the fearsome spider-like monster called the Lala Barina. It is part of the Temnoceran class of monsters that’s quite rare in the series which includes the likes of the Rachnoid, Pyrantula. and Rakna-Kadaki.

This monster has spindly limbs and can unfurl its thorax into a rose-like form. Even though it looks beautiful in a way, it should pose a major challenge for players.

You can watch the Lala Barina in action in the Monster Hunter Wilds Gamescom 2024 trailer here:

The Lala Barina can be found in the Scarlet Forest, the latest locale revealed that’s part of the game’s Forbidden Lands setting. Much like the previously shown locales, the Scarlet Forest has a dynamic environment that should add to the challenge of exploration.

Monster Hunter Wilds will be released sometime in 2025 on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.

As the game has no release date yet, it likely will get a release near the middle part of 2025. What we can say for certain is that Capcom will share more info on Monster Hunter Wilds soon, especially given how popular the franchise has become over the past few years.
