NIKKE is back with another collab, and this time it’s with the ever-popular Neon Genesis Evangelion! This collab will go live on August 22, and as many players expected, it will feature new playable characters straight out of Hideaki Anno’s iconic mecha franchise.
The collab was officially revealed via the game’s official social media pages just a few days ago. Soon after a new trailer was released that confirmed which EVA characters are making their way into the game.
Perhaps unsurprisingly, Shinji isn’t part of the crossover given that pretty much every NIKKE character is a girl (except for Nier’s Pascal maybe). Instead, this collab brings Asuka Langley Soryu, Rei Ayanami, Mari Makinami Illustrious, and Misato Katsuragi.
You can check out the collab’s trailer here:
While the complete details have yet to be revealed, we already have a good idea of what to expect based on the previous Nier: Automata and Chainsaw Man crossovers. Given that these two previous collabs featured one SR that can be acquired via log-in events, it’s likely that this EVA collab will work similarly.
As Misato isn’t highlighted, it’s likely that she will be the SR character. If not, it may be Mari. What’s certain though is that the fan-favorites Asuka and Rei will be SSR characters that players will have to roll for.
Aside from these characters, the crossover will also likely feature new story content. Based on the trailer we’ll likely see the NIKKE and EVA characters face off against fearsome Angels.
