Following their unveiling back in June, Samsung has launched its new monitors for 2024 in the Philippines, including new Odyssey, Smart, and ViewFinity displays.
These monitors were unveiled in the Philippines in partnership with PC Express at SM Makati last Thursday, August 8. There, a selection of the new monitors were showcased, with the two Odyssey gaming monitors hooked up to a gaming rig for attendees to try.
As with most new tech released this year, Samsung’s latest monitors are powered by AI. To start, the new Odyssey OLED G8 is a flat OLED AI gaming monitor with a 32-inch display size (with a 16:9 aspect ratio). This monitor has an NQ8 AI Gen3 Processor that smartly upscales content to 4K resolution. For a better gaming experience, the monitor also features a 240Hz refresh rate and 0.03ms gray-to-gray (GtG) response time.
For something a bit smaller, there’s the OLED G6 which is a 27-inch display with a QHD (2560 x 1440) resolution and a 16:9 aspect ratio. While it’s smaller, it’s faster as it has a 360Hz refresh rate, complete with a 0.03ms GtG response time for a responsive experience when playing games.
Next up is the new Smart Monitors from Samsung which comes in three flavors: the 32-inch 4K UHD resolution Smart M8 along with the smaller Smart Monitor M7 or the Smart Monitor M5.
As its name implies, the new Samsung Smart Monitor features AI Upscaling to 4K thanks to its NQM AI processor, along with the Active Voice Amplifier Pro for enhanced audio for meetings. Speaking of online meetings, this monitor also has a SlimFit camera built-in so there’s no need to buy an external webcam.
For watching movies and shows, the monitor’s 4K resolution is paired with a 360 Audio Mode that promises a more immersive experience.
Rounding out the lineup are the 27-inch ViewFinity S6 and 32-inch ViewFinity S6. These ViewFinity displays are also made for work, with features like a USB type-C port that allows 90W charging and data transfer at the same time, along with a built-in LAN port for ethernet connectivity with laptops that don’t have one.
Another nifty feature of these ViewFinity laptops is its ability to have an expanded workspace via Daisy Chaining. With this, users can connect two ViewFinity monitors together via a cable to use them in one setup, with no need to connect both monitors to the PC or laptop.
The new Samsung monitors are available now in authorized dealers nationwide, and via the Samsung website.
