It has been two years since it was announced, and finally, Netflix revealed the official Squid Game Season 2 release date!
The highly anticipated second season of Squid Game got a new teaser from Netflix, and it revealed that the show will premiere on December 26.
While the teaser didn’t reveal much, it did feature what seems to be a track-and-field event stage featuring a bunch of new Squid Game contestants. Also shown are the Pink Soldiers along with Front Man who greets viewers. In the end, it’s revealed that the show’s second season will be released this December.

Along with the release date announcement, Netflix also shared a special message from director Hwang Dong-hyuk. There, he mentioned that the show will also get a third season, though that season will be the series’ proper finale.
The director also said that he hopes fans will also look forward to the new season. He also mentioned that Seong Gi-hun and the Front Man will play central roles in the upcoming seasons.
For now, it’s not clear confirmed how many episodes this new season will have. It’s likely though that it will have between 8-10 episodes, as is the case with most Netflix original series.
Squid Game Season 2 will be released exclusively on Netflix on December 26, 2024. Then, the third season is set to be released in 2025.
