It has been nearly a decade since the game’s initial release, and now, PlayStation revealed that the Until Dawn remake aka the rebuilt and enhanced edition for PS5 and PC this October.
While the remake was announced before, PlayStation finally revealed the game’s release date today along with more details about what to expect.
Yes, while PlayStation calls it “rebuilt and enhanced,” this game is still very much a remake. After all, it’s rebuilt on Unreal Engine 5, meaning it has more eye-popping visuals, complete with raytracing and even more advanced camera models. This should make the game a more atmospheric horror experience that genre fans will love.

While this game should still play similarly with the original version, even those who played the PS4 version have reason to play this, and not just for the enhanced visuals. That’s because the remake will also feature a reworked prologue that will give the Washingtons extra screen time.
On top of this, the game will have a revised camera control mechanic that will give players proper over-the-shoulder views. This should make the game feel more modern, all while giving players a better look at the scenes that unfold.
The Until Dawn remake is coming to PS5 and PC on October 4, 2024, with pre-orders opening on August 21.
Ahead of this game’s release though, God of War Ragnarok is coming to PC on September 19, 2024.
