Watsons and Team Liquid PH champion men’s grooming in esports

Feel good, Play Great.

I didn’t know I need this collaboration in my 2024 Bingo card but here we are with the current Mobile Legends Professional League Philippines defending Champions Team Liquid (formerly ECHO) signing up to be Watsons Philippines’ latest brand ambassadors. This makes Watsons the groups official health and beauty partner, a sentence I didn’t know I’ll be writing until now.

“We are excited to partner with Team Liquid Philippines because we saw their dedication and drive to excel in their field. They have also inspired the younger generation to step up their game, and this is what makes this partnership meaningful for us. We share the same values and commitment to excellence, and we hope that through our collaboration, we will be able to empower everyone to look good, do good, and feel great by leveling up their game play as well as their health and personal care with Watsons and Team Liquid Philippines,” shared Jared Ernest De Guzman, Customer Director, Watsons Philippines.

While this partnership may be odd, in 2024, it’s quite necessary. We’ve been seeing a rise in esports acceptance and viewership for the past couple of years and we’d like to think it’s high time that non-endemic brands (i.e. brands that do not necessarily have a direct link to esports or video games like peripherals, gaming devices, etc.) should take notice of this growing trend.

Team Liquid Philippines, who has gained recognition for its strategic gameplay, skilled roster, and consistent performance, also expressed their thoughts about the partnership.

“Health and wellness are growing concerns for the younger generation. As a steward of the gaming community, we are proud to represent the best solution, Watsons. As a premier esports team, Team Liquid’s dedication to generational fandom is made possible through brands that seek to provide value for our fans. This collaboration will strengthen our players physically and mentally to win more championships for our mutual goal, the customers, and the fans,” shared Christopher Djaja, Managing Director SEA, Team Liquid.

According to a press release that was given to us, the dynamic partnership promises exciting content and exclusive promotions that will captivate Watsons customers and esports fans alike. What that looks like is still a mystery to us, but according to the brand it’s going to be a series of educational and entertaining content from both brands as well as possible perks and discounts to a wide range of personal grooming products so you don’t just play good, you’ll look and feel good as well.
