Xiaomi TV A 32 2025 Review | Geek Lifestyle

Is the Xiaomi TV A 32 2025 the ultimate budget TV? Here's what we think.

Xiaomi recently launched its new TV A and A Pro 2025 series in the Philippines, though ahead of its launch, we got to test out the Xiaomi TV A 32 2025.

As the 32 in the name implies, this is the TV A series’ smallest model given that it has a 32-inch screen size. Given this, it should come as no surprise that the TV only has a 1366 x 768 resolution, as is the case with pretty much every widely available 32-inch TV in the market. On the flip side, the TV does have the same set of features as the bigger 55-inch model.

What this 32-inch version also has is an incredibly affordable price tag. While we initially guessed that its price would be around PHP 10k, it’s actually much lower than that. As such, this TV might be one of the best smart TV deals you can get based on its specs and feature list, especially for those who want a budget-friendly model.

So, is the Xiaomi TV A 32 2025 a worthy TV option in the budget space? Here’s our review.

Design and Connectivity

To start, the TV A 32 2025 is fairly small given both its 32-inch screen size along with the slim bezels. This makes it a TV that can easily fit most stands, great for those who want a TV in a small room. Yes, you can also mount this TV as it supports a 100 × 100mm wall mount.

Aside from being small, the TV is also quite slim and incredibly light. At just 3.6kg, this smallest TV A model is also easy to bring to your house or room, with no need to have anyone else install it for you.

For connectivity, this TV has 2 HDMI 2.0 ports, a USB 2.0 port, RCA cable ports, an ethernet port, and a DVB-T2 cable for a cable TV connection. As this TV is a budget-friendly model, the TV A 32 2025 should have enough ports for a user’s needs at this price range, though a 3.5mm jack would’ve been nice to have to more easily connect speakers. The workaround here is to buy a 3.5mm female to RCA male cable.

Design-wise, this 32-inch Xiaomi TV is not an attention-grabber, though it looks very much like a sleek and modern TV. In fact, it looks quite premium to the point that it doesn’t look at all like a model that’s priced the same as an entry-level smartphone.

Binge-Watching Factor

Now, we move on to the TV’s picture quality which is one of the most important things to note with any TV. As it has a 1366 x 768 resolution, I wasn’t expecting much from this TV, though I was pleasantly surprised by its quality.

Sure, it’s not the sharpest-looking TV out there, but when viewed at the recommended distance for a 32-inch TV (around 47 inches or 3.92 feet), the TV A 32 2025 looks good enough to enjoy movies and shows. You’ll need to sit close up to notice the resolution for this TV.

Also worth noting is that it has quite a wide viewing angle. Even when you’re viewing it from the side (around 130 degrees), you shouldn’t see a big dip in quality, though of course viewing it straight on will still provide the best experience.

It’s unfair to compare it to a bigger TV with a higher resolution, so I instead did a side-by-side with an old 32-inch TV. Compared to typical 32-inch models from years ago, the Xiaomi TV has better colors and overall sharpness, making it an upgrade if you have an old entry-level TV that you’re still using.

As for brightness, this TV can get quite bright, enough that I found the 50 setting to be bright enough even when the lights are on in a room.

What also helps when it comes to watching movies and shows is that the TV doesn’t have any annoying features like motion interpolation. These hamper the viewing experience in most situations instead of helping.

Internal Audio Quality

Xiaomi added dual decoding by Dolby Audio and DTS-X on this TV, and while we can’t tell exactly how this helps, it’s safe to say that audio is one of the weakest aspects of the 32-inch Xiaomi TV.

While the audio gets quite loud in a small room, quality isn’t the best as it sounds a bit tinny and lacking in bass. It also sounds like a mono speaker at times even if the TV has a stereo speakers setup.

There are some audio settings that you can tweak like enabling DTS Virtual:X Sound, though this one sounded unconvincing to us. What did help is the DTS-X bass boost feature which at least gives it deeper bass.

When watching YouTube videos, the speakers aren’t so bad as it’s still clear and can get plenty loud, but for music and movies, having external speakers is ideal as even a standard 2.1 speaker setup can help. Again though, you’ll need a female-to-male connector as it lacks a 3.5mm headphone jack.

Gameplay Experience

The Xiaomi TV A 32 2025 is not a gaming TV, though I tried it as a display for gaming. So, I hooked up a PS5 and played various games on it. I even used the TV while reviewing Gundam Breaker 4 which we shared recently.

The main tests for this TV though are Elden Ring and Taiko no Tatsujin: Drum Session. There’s a good reason why I chose these two games they require precise timing, and any delay caused by the TV can be felt.

Note that I turned off all the visual enhancement features on the TV to test these out. After some time playing, I can safely say that the TV A 32 2025 is a pretty good TV for gaming. Sure, you won’t get the eye-popping visuals that many PS5 games can deliver, but it’s responsive all while not looking too bad.

The resolution being low can be an issue in some games though, especially as this means the text in some games can be hard to read. Thankfully, most games have bigger text options to compensate.

Everyday Reliability

Despite being an affordable model, the TV A 32 2025 is still a Smart TV with many of the features that are found in the more premium models. To be exact, this is a Google TV with support for popular streaming apps like YouTube, Netflix, Prime Video, Disney+, and more. You can also download more apps like Crunchyroll or Spotify. And you can also easily cast videos or music from your phone.

The TV’s interface should be familiar to most users who have used a Smart TV, or at least something like Xiaomi’s Mi Box. As such, the TV is easy to navigate. You can also use your voice via Google Assistant to search for movies, shows, and specific videos. I found that using voice commands is surprisingly accurate and reliable, to the point that I found myself using them a lot.

A weakness when it comes to its Smart TV aspect is the lag. At startup or when the TV is woken from sleep, it can take a while before the UI becomes smooth and responsive. In the opening minute or two, there is noticeable lag when navigating the menus and apps. This is annoying, though thankfully, navigation becomes much smoother after some time.

What’s also a bit slow is the startup. When the TV is turned off fully, starting the TV can take a few minutes as after the home UI has booted up, it’s not the most responsive to start. As such, it’s recommended to just keep this TV in sleep mode. In fact, pressing the remote’s power button simply puts the TV to sleep instead of turning it off.

Xiaomi TV A 32 2025 – Final Verdict

Among Xiaomi’s new 2025 models, the TV A 32 2025 is the most affordable model, but it’s still well worth considering. This is because its picture quality is quite good given its resolution, coupled with the fact that its Google TV interface is easy to navigate and set up, all while having all the popular streaming apps. Plus, it’s not a bad TV for gaming when it comes to responsiveness.

The main drawbacks are its audio quality and the slowdowns of its UI at certain times. It’s easy to look past these though as the Xiaomi TV A 32 2025 is an incredible bargain given that it is priced at just PHP 7,695. It even comes with a PHP 5,795 promo price when bought during the first week.

Thanks to this affordable price tag, the TV A 32 2025 is worth buying for those on a budget, whether they’re looking for a small 32-inch TV for their room, or for those who want a spare TV to use in a guest bedroom or spare room for instance.
